Jury reaches not guilty verdict in sex case
Aug. 5– A Hardin County jury on Thursday decided a Counce man was not guilty of sexual battery.
Lee Weaver, 52, had been accused of putting his hand down the pants of a 13-year-old girl. Weaver was then alleged to have warned the girl that if she ever wanted to see her friend again, she would not tell anyone.
The jury was out about 30 minutes before returning its verdict acquitting the defendant.
Weaver was represented by public defender Richard Deberry.
