Octogenarian killed in crash, two injured
July 29– An 80-year-old Hardin County man driving in the wrong lane was killed Wednesday when his Ford Taurus sedan collided with a Ford F-450 pickup truck, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
Charles R. Lambert was driving the Taurus southbound on Tenn. 69 at the intersection with Holly Branch Road in Walnut Grove, traveling in the northbound lane.
Terrance D. Mooneyham, 28, also of Hardin County, was driving the heavy-duty pickup north on the highway in his proper lane.
Mooneyham swerved in an attempt to avoid Lambert but they collided in the northbound lane at 8:30 p.m.
Lambert was not wearing a seatbelt. Mooneyham was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured.
Two passengers in the pickup, Cressie L. Mooneyham, 27, and Mackenzie Mooneyham, 10, were wearing seatbelts and were reported injured.
