Stantonville man facing child rape charge
July 28– A McNairy County man who worked as a delivery truck driver in Savannah remains behind bars, accused of sex crimes against a boy under the age of 13.
Michael H. Robinson, 36, of Stantonville, was arrested by McNairy County Sheriff’s Department deputies on July 12 on charges including aggravated sexual battery and rape of a child.
According to Chief Deputy Allen Strickland’s affidavit of complaint, the child’s mother caught Robinson in the act and a 911 call was made.
Strickland said Robinson confessed to having performed oral sex on the boy on various occasions over a three-year period.
McNairy County Circuit Court Clerk Ronnie Brooks said Robinson is being held at the McNairy County Justice Complex. Bail was set at $500,000.
A hearing in the case is set for Aug. 25.
