Restaurant burglarized, employee charged
June 30– An employee of Papa John’s in Savannah has been arrested on a charge of burglarizing the Wayne Road pizza restaurant.
Savannah police say John Kelly Richard Daniel Morgan, 29, 348 Horse Creek Road, entered the building through a side window on Monday while the business was closed.
Once inside, he got the keys to the safe, opened it and took $2,921. He also took $20 from a soft drink vending machine, according to investigators.
There was no sign of forced entry.
Morgan was arrested Wednesday.
