Two city commissioners call it quits, three run for the seats
May 19– The deadline to qualify to run in the Aug. 11 election to fill two seats on the Savannah City Commission arrived at noon today with three candidates making the ballot.
Commissioners Phillip Lay and Michael Davis both declined to seek another four-year term.
The candidates are businessman Kent Collier, retired state trooper Andre Orr, and public school teacher Wesley W. Wilkerson.
July 12 is the last day to register to vote in the upcoming city election.
Early voting starts July 22 and ends at noon on Aug. 6.
