Friday night power outage affected 5,600 PEC customers
May 16– Pickwick Electric Cooperative reports Friday’s power outage that affected northeast McNairy County and northwest Hardin County was caused by a broken cross-arm on a major transmission line between Adamsville and Henderson.
The lights went out about 8 p.m. Power was restored at 10:30 p.m.
PEC said a total of 5,600 customers were affected, including those in Adamsville, Leapwood, Crump, Milledgeville, Morris Chapel and Crump.
A PEC spokesman said although some severe weather passed through the area around the time of the outage, the storm is not believed to have caused the damage to the transmission line.
