Possible fatality in three-vehicle crash
April 12– One person may be dead in a three-vehicle crash that occurred around 1:30 p.m. today on Pickwick Street at the intersection of Lacefield Drive in Savannah.
Unofficial reports indicate that the driver of a VW Cabrio with a Hardin County license tag was killed when it was struck in the driver side by a GMC Envoy bearing a McNairy County tag.
A Ford Ranger pickup truck belonging to the Savannah Utility Department was also involved.
As of 2 p.m. Pickwick Street remained blocked to traffic as state troopers took measurements and sprayed orange markings on the pavement.
Savannah City Manager Garry Welch was at the scene and said the driver of the city truck said he was not injured.
