Two killed in crash near Michie
April 6– Two people died Tuesday in a two-vehicle crash in McNairy County, three-fourths of a mile east of Michie.
Killed in the 2:01 p.m. collision were driver Danna Rae Ray, 68, and her passenger Robert V. Ray, 63, both of Asheville, North Carolina, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
The investigating officer, Trooper Jason Kirk, said Johnny L. Logan, 40, of Pocahontas, was driving a 2001 Dodge Ram pickup east on Tenn. 57 in a 55 mph zone.
Danna Ray, operating a 2007 Chevrolet Impala, was merging off of the Tenn. 22-57 Cutoff Road to go east on Tenn. 57.
Ray decided to go back westbound on Tenn. 57 and was struck by Logan, who was not injured.
