Hardin County unveils storm warning robo-caller
Feb. 21– Just in time for Severe Weather Awareness Week and possible tornado-producing storms Thursday, Hardin County E-911 unveiled a new phone-based warning system today.
Hardin County Alerts is an emergency notification voice and text messaging system. It is used by public safety officials as a way to quickly reach voice phone numbers and mobile devices when an urgent situation needs to be communicated.
Subscribing is free and easy. On the internet, just click this link and complete the form.
Click "sign up now" and you’re done.
Residents with traditional landlines don’t even have to do that because their phone numbers have already been downloaded into the system, according to Hardin County E-911 Director David Alexander.
All subscribers will automatically receive NOAA severe weather warnings in their choice of voice, text or email messages. Normal carrier-based text message charges do apply.
Alexander said anyone who does not have access to the internet can fill out a paper form at the Savannah Police Department on King Street.
