One injured in Counce log truck wreck
Jan. 24– A 20-year-old Counce man was seriously injured in a collision with a loaded log truck that then resulted in two additional crashes, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
Charles Aaron Parson, who lives on Damon Road, was driving a 2007 Dodge pickup northbound on Kendrick Road.
He pulled into the path of an 18-wheeler carrying logs that was eastbound on Tenn. 57 on Jan. 19 at 6:45 p.m., THP Sgt. William Siler said Sunday evening.
"Highway 57 was covered with pine logs," he said.
Siler said a tractor-trailer carrying paper products from the nearby mill was damaged when it hit the logs. Another vehicle was also damaged by striking logs.
Parson was airlifted to The Med in Memphis from the scene, but the driver of the log truck, John Foster, 43, of Booneville, was not injured. No other injuries were reported.
The wreck, worked by Trooper Gerald Hardin, remains under investigation.
