Milledgeville fire chief dies fighting fire
Dec. 14– Milledgeville Fire Chief Jimmy Tuberville died Monday while fighting a grass fire, according to reports.
Tuberville, 64, a 20-plus-year veteran volunteer firefighter, had driven to the fire scene adjacent to Tenn. 22-A and near the city fire hall at 2:20 p.m. Shortly after exiting the fire truck, Tuberville collapsed and died of an apparent heart attack, said Hardin County Fire Chief Melvin Martin.
Funeral arrangements are pending.
