Missing woman found trapped, dead
Nov. 30– The body of a local woman who had been missing for eight days was found on Thanksgiving morning, partially pinned beneath her own vehicle, Hardin County Sheriff Sammy Davidson said today.
The victim, Janice Fay Davis, 60, of 115 Youngs Lane, was found on an unpaved road past Hardin Creek Bridge on Clifton Road about 8:20 a.m. It appeared her vehicle had gotten stuck and when she attempted to push it out, became trapped, he said.
Death was probably not instantaneous, according to the sheriff.
Davidson said although foul play is not suspected, an autopsy had been performed on the body.
Services for Davis were held Monday at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah.
