Services set for teen killed in gun accident
Nov. 10– Services will be held tonight and Thursday at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Savannah for a Savannah teen fatally wounded when he and a friend went out for target practice Saturday afternoon.
According to Hardin County Sheriff Sammy Davidson, Allan (Tyler) Tucker, 16, and Casey Harrison, 19, ventured into the woods on Carroll Road in Michie, both carrying guns.
Tucker, a Hardin County High School junior, was in front of Harrison, when Harrison tripped, fell and accidently discharged his gun, a 12-guage shotgun, at 4:30 p.m.
Harrison immediately called 911 and frantically reported the shooting.
Tucker, wounded in the lower back, was transported to Hardin Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. Tucker’s autopsy will be performed in Nashville.
Davidson described the relationship between the two boys as "close," and said Harrison was very remorseful, referring to Tucker as "his best friend."
The incident remains under investigation and no charges had been filed as of Tuesday afternoon.
