Fired McNairy County schools director rehired
Oct. 27– Just two weeks after being fired, Charlie Miskelly is back at the helm of the McNairy County school system as director.
At a special called meeting this morning, the McNairy County Board of Education unanimously voted to reinstate him, but still has yet to reveal why Miskelly was terminated in the first place.
Miskelly indicated he wants to put the matter behind him.
"I want you all to know that no matter what you decide here today," he told board members prior to the vote, "there will be no hard feelings on my behalf. My only goal is that we all work to make the McNairy County education system all that it can be."
The board’s action comes after Miskelly hired a pair of high-powered attorneys, but no suit has been filed.
