Crump dealer of bargain DVDs busted
Sept. 7– Pssst! Want to buy a DVD of "Hot Tub Time Machine" for just two bucks?
A Mississippi man stands accused of selling bootleg DVDs at a Crump flea market.
Crump Police Chief John Youngson said David J. Hill, 43, of Walnut, Miss., was selling counterfeit movies at booth 34 at Rawhide Flea Market on U.S. 64.
The suspect was arrested in a cooperative operation with Cornerstone Protective Services, a private investigative agency, he said.
Youngson said a controlled buy was conducted in which 10 bootleg DVD movies were purchased from Hill for $20.
Titles included "Twilight, New Moon," "Clash of the Titans," and "Diary of a Wimpy Kid."
About 400 illegal duplicate DVDs and 400 legitimate movie disks were reported seized, along with $502.
