Vehicle theft report leads to drug arrests
Aug. 31– Both the suspect and the victim in a vehicle theft incident ended up behind bars after a deputy went to the victim’s home, according to Hardin County Sheriff Sammy Davidson.
Whit A. Waynick, 100 Nancy B Drive, Savannah, reported that he and two women went to Dry Creek to ride four-wheelers on Aug. 22. He told a deputy he was riding his daughter on the four-wheeler and came back to where he had parked his GMC Canyon four-wheel drive pickup truck.
The women were in the vehicle talking to some men and Stephanie A. Hubank, 385 Maddox Loop, was behind the wheel.
Waynick said he told Hubank he needed the truck, but she then drove off with the four-wheeler trailer still attached.
The truck was recovered the following day and Hubank, 30, was charged with vehicle theft and possession of substances used to manufacture methamphetamine.
Waynick, also 30, was subsequently arrested on the same drug charge, Davidson said.
