More than 2,000 ballots already cast in early voting
July 28– Early voting ends Saturday at noon in the Aug. 5 Hardin County election that chooses the entire county commission, mayor, sheriff, road superintendent and most major courthouse offices for the next four years.
As of Tuesday at the close of business, 2,093 ballots had been cast early, the Hardin County Election Commission reported.
"It’s shaping up to be a really good turnout," said Marilyn Adams, the county election administrator.
Also on the ballot are state primary elections.
To vote early, go to the Hardin County Election Commission office in the basement of the county courthouse on Main Street in Savannah.
Weekday hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The office will not close for lunch.
The office is open for voting Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to noon.
On election day, the polls will be open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
