Grand Jury indicts 80 people

The Hardin County grand jury met Monday, returning 73 true bills and indicting 80 defendants.

Included in the indictments, ranging from child rape to drug offenses, are two first degree murder indictments.

John Wesley May was indicted on first degree murder and aggravated arson charges in the Nov. 15, 2001 death of Mildred Grant, who was reportedly strangled and her body set on fire at the victim’s home.

Michael K. Mitchell was indicted on first degree murder charges in a separate case. Mitchell is charged in the Dec. 6, 2009 death of his mother Carolyn A. Chelette. Other indictments were handed down as follows:

• Dallas J. Woods–Possession of controlled substance with intent to deliver, possession of a controlled substance, unlawful drug paraphernalia uses and activities
• Brian Keith McLin–Selling a controlled substance
• Jimmy Leon Middleton, Jr.–Aggravated assault, initiate process to manufacture methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, unlawful carrying or possession of a weapon, unlawful drug paraphernalia uses and activities
• Victoria Petty Murphy–Two counts selling a controlled substance
• Albert D. Porter–Two counts selling a controlled substance
• Donald Wayne Smith–Promotion of a methamphetamine manufacture
• Tracey Carol Dale–Promotion of a methamphetamine manufacture
• Donald Ray Simpson–Aggravated burglary
• Richard A. Hutton–initiate process to manufacture methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, with intent to deliver, unlawful drug paraphernalia uses and activities
• Joseph L. Jackson–initiate process to manufacture methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, with intent to deliver, unlawful drug paraphernalia uses and activities
• Clarence E. Irons–Habitual Motor Vehicle Offender, violation of the registration law
• Betty J. Leonard–Selling a controlled substance
• James Lewis–Manufacturing a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, unlawful drug paraphernalia uses and activities, unlawful carrying or possession of a weapon
• Andre Lindsay–Selling a controlled substance
• Oscar Jiovanni Perez Herrea–Possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, unlawful drug paraphernalia uses and activities
• Rosetta Renee Dixon–Possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, unlawful drug paraphernalia uses and activities
• Ronnie Lee Casey–Two counts selling a controlled substance
• Jennifer Cooksey–Criminal conspiracy to manufacture a controlled substance, initiate process to manufacture methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, unlawful drug paraphernalia uses and activities
• Shannon Lee Coryat–Initiate process to manufacture methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, possession of a legend drug, possession of a controlled substance, unlawful drug paraphernalia uses and activities
