Girl taken from roach infested meth house
July 7– Five suspects were arrested on drug charges by the Hardin County Sheriff’s Department within a four-day span.
Deputies were dispatched to 470 Walker Loop to do a welfare check on a 5-year-old girl after getting a tip methamphetamine was being made there, according to Sheriff Sammy Davidson.
The owner of the mobile home, Misty (Petty) Whisenant, reportedly gave permission for officers to look around the residence.
The search allegedly turned up "several items like a half a bag of fertilizer, batteries, tubing and two bottles with chemicals inside of them already mixed together."
The items were found in a bag beneath the trailer.
Sheriff’s Investigator Stacey Moore said Wisenant’s young daughter was present in the dwelling, which he described as roach-infested and "so full of junk you could hardly walk through it."
Wisenant, 35, and Jeremy V. Doyle, 34, 200 Holmes Lane, Adamsville, were both arrested Saturday on charges of aggravated child endangerment and initiation of meth manufacturing.
The child was taken by her father to Hardin Medical Center to be examined, Moore said.
Friday, Robert Woodard, 53, and Todd R. Cote, 42, both of 275 Borden Loop, Crump were arrested at their residence by Moore and Agent Jamie Lowrance of the 24th Judicial District Drug Task Force, court records show.
Following up on a complaint of meth-making, the officers said they smelled a strong chemical odor when Woodard opened the door to their knock.
Woodard allowed the officers inside and during a search to which he reportedly consented, two "one pot" meth cook bottles, four grams of finished meth and two needles and a glass pipe for smoking meth were discovered.
The men are charged with initiation of meth, possession of Schedule II narcotics with intent, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Davidson said Carlos Thompson, 31, 160 Maddox Loop was arrested on June 30 on charges of possession of marijuana with intent to sell and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Officers went to Thompson’s residence to serve a warrant and found four bags of marijuana with a combined weight of one ounce, along with a postage scale, in a duffel bag, a court affidavit states.
