Wild ride leads to drug arrest
May 27– A bizarre domestic dispute unfolded Wednesday morning on Main Street resulting in a Jackson man’s arrest on a cocaine possession charge.
Savannah police were dispatched at 7:58 a.m. following a report of a "blue truck going down Wayne Road with a man hanging on the back end." The caller also advised a black Jeep was left in the road.
James H. Creasy, 28, reportedly abandoned his vehicle in front of Advance Auto Parts on Main Street, leaving the engine running.
He then jumped into the back of a pickup truck in which Creasy’s wife was a passenger. The driver of the pickup went straight to the Savannah Police Department, with Creasy going along for the ride.
Officers emerged from their station to deal with the disturbance and as they did, Sgt. Allen Snelling was checking out the Jeep, according to police Investigator TJ Barker.
Snelling spotted "in plain view" on the console a medication bottle with Creasy’s name and containing what appeared to be powder cocaine.
The arrest report states Creasy "admitted it was his cocaine" and that he was "under the influence of cocaine and hydrocodone."
