Richards not a rapist
March 30– A Hardin County jury found Anthony Tyler Richards of Michie not guilty on charges of statutory rape and sexual battery Monday.
Richards was 20 when he was accused of putting his hand down the pants of a 14-year-old girl on May 23, 2009.
The girl had told Richards to stop, the court record states.
According to one juror, the prosecution "didn’t prove anything."
Richards was represented by attorney Curt Hopper of Savannah.
