Dispute between Olive Hill couple leaves one dead
March 22 - According to Hardin County Sheriff Sammy Davidson, a domestic dispute between an Olive Hill couple ended in death early Sunday morning.
Davidson says the argument between Eddie Baugus, 47, and his wife, Shannon Baugus, 39, ended when Shannon shot her husband multiple times with a .357 Magnum pistol in the bedroom of the couple’s home at 1140 Coy Hill Road.
In the house’s living room at the time of the shooting were two of the Baugus’ children, one now an adult. Another child was also present.
The husband was pronounced dead at the scene and transported to Nashville for autopsy.
Davidson said Shannon was transported to the Hardin Medical Center and received treatment for a mild concussion and bruising on areas including her head and arms.
The sheriff said Shannon has not been charged and continues to cooperate with the ongoing investigation. Upon completion of the investigation, Davidson says the case will be turned over to the district attorney’s office for review.
