Snow threat closes Hardin County schools
Dec. 6– Hardin County Director of Schools John Thomas announced at noon that schools will be closed tomorrow and Friday because of the threat of inclement weather.
Here's the National Weather Service forecast for Savannah as of noon today:
Tonight: Snow likely, mainly after 3 a.m. Cloudy, with a low around 23. Calm wind becoming south around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
Thursday: Snow showers before 6 a.m., then snow before 1 p.m., then patchy blowing snow and scattered flurries after 1 p.m. High near 31. Blustery, with a southwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming west northwest between 15 and 20 mph. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. New snow accumulation of around an inch possible.
