Escapee releases abducted woman at Savannah Walmart
Dec. 27-- The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation today added a prison escapee who walked away from a CCA prison in Clifton to its list of Top Ten Most Wanted fugitives.
Stephen Allen Hester, 26, is wanted by the Tennessee Department of Corrections for escape after he got away from the CCA prison facility in Wayne County.
According to the TBI he was serving an eight-year sentence for an aggravated robbery he committed in Memphis earlier this year.
At approximately 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Hester was discovered missing during a headcount. Authorities then determined Hester went to a nearby market in Clifton, abducted a woman and stole her car.
He later let her go at the Walmart in Savannah but continued to drive her car.
His last known address is 332 Slaton Avenue, Hartwell, Ga., and authorities believe he could be headed to the Memphis area.
The TBI said Hester has a criminal history that includes burglary, passing bad checks, drug possession charges and driving on a suspended license.
Hester is described as a while male with brown hair and blue eyes. He’s approximately 5’9” and weighs 230 lbs. He has tattoos on both arms and right calf. He could be driving a 2005 silver Chevy Malibu with Tennessee License Plate 575-TQT.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Stephen Allen Hester is urged to call the TBI at 800-TBI-FIND.
