Hardin County state trooper fired
Dec. 18– A state trooper assigned to Hardin County has been fired, the Tennessee Department of Safety said today.
Former trooper Jimmy Lambert was served a "minimum due process" letter for termination on Dec. 3 following an internal investigation by the department’s Office of Professional Responsibility, according to safety department Public Affairs Director Mike Browning.
He said the internal investigation determined that while a trooper, Lambert had "engaged in alleged criminal activity" now being investigated by Hansel McCadams, district attorney general for the 24th Judicial District.
Lambert, 56, was placed on administrative leave on Nov. 16, pending the internal investigation, Browning said.
Lambert had been a trooper since July 1997.
