New AT&T cell tower boosts Saltillo-area coverage
Dec. 3– AT&T announced Wednesday the activation of a new cell site nine miles north of Savannah in Hardin County.
This new site now boosts wireless coverage to Saltillo and surrounding areas.
From 2006 to 2008, AT&T’s total capital investment in its wireless and wired networks in Tennessee was more than $1.2 billion, according to the company.
"This investment in the latest wireless technology is good for business and consumers in Hardin County," said state Rep. Vance Dennis (R-Savannah). "This expanded coverage is also proof positive of the increasing use of wireless communication across the state."
"Rep. Dennis has helped pave the way for this type of investment, and as a result of his leadership, the lives of everyday individuals and families will be enhanced and our Hardin area businesses will stay competitive," said Beth Pippin, executive director of the Hardin County Chamber of Commerce.
"Our goal is pretty simple: we want you to have an extraordinary experience when you make a call, check e-mail, download a song or video, or surf the Internet on your AT&T device," said Gregg Morton, president, AT&T Tennessee.
