Wicked weather withers school stockpile days to two

Jan. 29– According to Hardin County Schools Deputy Director Michael Davis and Director of Federal Programs Terry McFalls, as of today Hardin County Schools have used nine of the district’s 13 “stockpile days” due to weather events.

Stockpile days are days built into the school year calendar which can be used as “off days” for students and not have them count against the state-required 180 days of school instruction.

Stockpile days can be used for certain weather events, natural disasters, or professional development for teachers.

Two stockpile days have also already been built into this school year calendar for professional development for teachers, which leaves the district with two stockpile days left.
