Carolyn Hill Alexander was born in Lewis County, Tennessee, on July 7, 1947, the daughter of Delia Collins and the late Carnie Monroe Bunch. On May 22, 1965, she was united in marriage to Tommy Hill, who preceded her in death on Nov. 17, 1984. Carolyn later married Bruce Alexander on May 11, 1987, who preceded her in death on April 4, 2004.
She departed this life on Saturday, Nov. 4, 2017, at the age of 70 years, 3 months and 24 days.
Carolyn attended Sharon Baptist Church. She worked as a beautician in Olive Hill and as the office manager for Alexander Construction for 17 years. After retiring, Carolyn loved babysitting Alli Franks, Peyton Murphy, Alex Adams, Logan and Lexi Williams, Millie and Kely Norris, and Colby Hill. She also enjoyed cooking for family, friends and church events.
Carolyn is survived by her mother, Delia Collins and husband Carlton of Hohenwald, Tennessee; son, Ty Hill and wife Heather of Savannah; daughter, Summer Hart and husband Brent of Savannah; sister, Deborah Kilgoar of Phil Campbell, Alabama; grandson, Colby Hill of Savannah; and numerous extended family members.
In addition to her husbands and father, Carolyn was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Luna.
Services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 11, at 3 p.m., at Sharon Baptist Church in Savannah with Eric Smith officiating.
