Magenlino Estola “Mike” Manuel, of Savannah, was born in Manila, Philippines on Oct. 5, 1965, the son of Amado and Eugenia Estola Manuel. On July 18, 1993, he married Rowena Luna, who survives.
Magenlino departed this life on Monday, Oct. 2, at the age of 51 years, 11 months and 27 days.
Magenlino attended Seventh-day Adventist Church in Savannah and volunteered with Gospel Ministries International. He worked in maintenance, construction and electrical work at Harbert Hills Academy and was a volunteer firefighter. Magenlino participated in mission trips. He enjoyed helping people and will be remembered as a people person. Drawing, working, building things and playing tennis were the things he liked to do the most. Magenlino was very involved with his children and others. He loved God, his wife and his children.
In addition to his wife and parents, Magenlino is survived by his sons, Matthew Luna Manuel of San Jose, California, David Luna Manuel of Savannah and Michael Timothy Luna Manuel of Savannah; daughters, Megan Sarah Luna Manuel and Sarah Jennifer Luna Manuel, both of Savannah; and sisters, Marlyn Banta and Miriam Domingo, both of Loma Linda, California.
Services were held on Sunday, Oct. 8, at 3 p.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Bob Wint and Steve Dickman officiating. Burial followed in Lonesome Pine Cemetery at Savannah.
