Coma Dell “Tip” Bomar was born in Murphy, North Carolina on Nov. 13, 1935, the daughter of the late William and Lillian Hass Mintz.
On April 26, 1952, she was united in marriage to Glenn Earl Bomar, who preceded his wife in death on Nov. 16, 1999.
Mrs. Bomar was the retired owner of Bomar Grocery, she also had worked for Angelica. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church. Mrs. Bomar was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
She departed this life on Wednesday, Dec. 14, in Savannah, at the age of 81 years, 1 month and 1 day.
Mrs. Bomar is survived by her children, James Bomar and his wife Cathy, Timothy Bomar and his wife Shelia, and Glenna Jones, all of Savannah, and Connie Harris and her husband Kevin of Pleasant View, Tennessee; her grandchildren, Ryan Bomar of Medina, Tennessee, Alisha Bomar of Savannah, Chris Jones of Nashville, Jacob Bomar of Savannah, Kim Bomar of Crump and Whitney Willoughby of Savannah; great-grandchildren, Aubree and Easton Bomar of Medina, Tennessee and Kayleigh Grace and Emma Bomar of Savannah.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by 14 siblings.
Memorial services were held on Saturday, Dec. 17, at 3 p.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Benny Taylor officiating.
