Ronnie Lynn Whitten, 61, of Adamsville, died on Sunday, Dec. 11, in Jackson, Tennessee.
He was born in McNairy County, the son of the late Ernest “Pappy” and Terry Bess Barnes Whitten.
Mr. Whitten was a bluegrass musician, with his favorite instrument as the banjo. He attended Church on the Rock in Savannah.
He is survived by a brother, Wayne Whitten of Selmer; seven grandchildren; children, Heather Gayhart, Kim Pruitt and Daniel Sims; three nephews; and one niece.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Amanda Cristen Whitten; and a brother, Ray Whitten.
Funeral services were held on Friday, Dec. 16, at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Adamsville. Graveside services followed in Good Hope Cemetery on Dec. 17, with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Selmer in charge.
