Janace Brown, of Savannah, departed this life on Friday, Oct. 28, at the age of 69 years, 2 months and 10 days.
She was born in Booneville, Mississippi on Aug. 18, 1947, the daughter of the late Mavis Owens. On June 8, 1973, she was united in marriage to Gary Brown, who survives.
Janace retired from Hardin County Hospital in Savannah where she was a Registered Nurse for more than 35 years. She loved her grandkids and enjoyed music.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Gary Brown of Savannah; son, Jonathan Brown and wife Allison of Murfreesboro; grandchildren, Lilly Ann and Jay Brown; sister-in-law, Janice Savage of Sparta, Tennessee; nephew, Brad Owens of Asheville, North Carolina; nieces, Michelle McVey of Oxford, Mississippi and Jessie Blankenship of Jumpertown, Mississippi.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her brother, Barry Owens and his wife Katie; her grandmother who raised her, Kate McDowell; and a special aunt, Mozell “Auntie” McAnally.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 5, at 1 p.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Jason Martindale officiating.
